Although Maui offers excellent dining, shopping, and entertainment opportunities, probably the most popular aspect of Maui that draws tons of tourists to this beautiful island each year is its wealth of outdoor activities. With its beautiful beaches and lust greenery, Maui is an excellent destination for those who wish to go hiking, diving, biking, walking, snorkeling, or swimming. However, one of the best attractions in Maui that perfectly compliments anyone’s schedule to explore Maui’s natural beauty is the Maui Ocean Center, which is Hawaii’s largest aquarium.

Located about half an hour or less from many of Maui’s luxurious hotels, or just 20 minutes from Kihei and 30 minutes from Lahaina, the Maui Ocean Center is the excellent opportunities for children, families, and adults to explore the beautiful marine life found throughout the Hawaiian Islands. The aquarium offers over 60 indoor and outdoor exhibits featuring marine animals living in specially designed habitats that closely resemble their own natural environments. Some of the great exhibits include The Living Reef, Turtle Lagoon, Hammerhead Harbor, The Tide Pool, Marine Mammal Discovery Center, Sea Jelly Gallery, and The Open Ocean, which features a 54-foot-long clear acrylic tunnel through which visitors can walk through to explore the 750,000 gallon salt water aquarium surrounding them.
